The Five Crowns Thanksgiving Dinner offers traditional choices as well as a full menu of the restaurant's trademark dishes for this traditional family holiday.
A first course is included in the price of every entrée, with selections ranging from Butternut Squash Soup with pancetta and almonds to the Pride of the Crowns Salad with walnuts, bacon, croutons, and Asiago and Gruyere cheeses; Hearts of Romaine salad with pickled red onions in a Stilton cheese dressing; Caesar Salad of Romaine lettuce with a Parmesan crisp and croutons in an anchovy and garlic dressing; and Shrimp Cocktail made from chilled jumbo shrimp served with red cocktail sauce (add $7 for the latter).
As the main course, the classic Oven-Roasted Tom Turkey ($29) is Diestel free-range turkey served with fresh herb and chestnut dressing, real mashed potatoes and giblet gravy, sautéed green beans and yam slices baked with rosemary and garlic. The Five Crowns favorite, Roasted Prime Ribs of Beef, is served in the traditional manner, with creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, and Yorkshire pudding. It's available in the Five Crowns Cut ($44) and the Henry VIII Cut ($49), which is an extra-thick portion. For those who want it all, theres a Prime Rib and Turkey Combo ($40).
Non-traditionalists may prefer the Five Crowns' Beefsteak Neptune ($42), a butterflied filet mignon topped with crab legs, asparagus and sauce Béarnaise. Other choices include Rotisserie Roasted Pork Prime Rib ($39) with roasted garlic and Port wine sauce; Broiled Salmon ($36) in lemon caper butter with dill and fresh vegetables or Roasted Rack of Colorado Lamb ($44) with natural lamb sauce and mashed potatoes. Roasted Duckling ($37) served on a compote of apples and prunes is another option.
Desserts ($8) range from classic Pumpkin Pie with brandy-spiked whipped cream to Dutch Crust Apple Pie with cinnamon pistachio crème fraiche. English Trifle, a rum and brandy-laced cake layered with strawberries, English custard and whipped cream, is a Five Crowns standard-bearer. Fudge-crusted flourless chocolate cake, a Chambord-flavored torte with raspberry and caramel sauces will please the chocoholic. Crème brûlée with fresh raspberries in vanilla custard cream with a sugar crust is another classic.
