Blending the principles of preserved natural beauty
with contemporary manmade architecture, defines this
picturesque area of Newport Beach perfectly. Located
at the southern most tip of Newport Beach, you'll find
the newest urban developments in the city—including
the ultra-luxurious new Resort at Pelican Hill (opening
fall 2008) perched above 500 acres on the Newport
Coast, a shopping plaza with an ocean view, an array of
fine restaurants, and a championship golf course with
views of the Pacific from nearly every hole.
Across the way you'll be pleasantly surprised to find an entirely different community that takes you
back to the bygone days of California. The Crystal Cove State Park and Historic District is
comprised of 3.5 miles of pristine uninterrupted coastline, favored by hikers, campers and
trailblazers. The Crystal Cove Historic District is an enclave of 46 vintage rustic coastal cottages
originally built in the 1920's and 1930's nestled around the mouth of Los Trancos Creek. It is one
of the last remaining examples of early 20th century Southern California coastal development.
The Crystal Cove cottages are located right on the sand and available to visitors to rent. The only
caveat in booking a reservation is that they fill up quickly and require being booked six months
ahead. To learn more about booking your oceanfront haven, click here.
Stop in at the popular beachfront Beachcomber Café and join them daily at 5pm and again at sunset
for their daily salute to the martini flag.
