5 Things to Look Forward to This November

November is near, and in addition to Turkey Day, there’s a lot to experience and celebrate! Fall in Newport Beach is one of our favorite seasons, so we’ve rounded up a few festive events and activities to add to your calendar this November. From bayside brunches to festive events, these five happenings are sure to entertain.

Denim & Diamonds Fun Zone Festival

When: Nov. 17

Gather the family and get ready to play by the bay! This year’s FunZone Festival will take place on Friday, Nov. 17, at the time-honored Balboa Fun Zone and this year’s theme is denim and diamonds. Slip on your cowboy boots for this Western-themed bash and enjoy a night of line dancing, delicious BBQ bites, a s’mores bar, an auction, games and plenty of photo ops! This exciting fundraiser is put on by the Balboa Island Museum, which aims to preserve and promote the culture and history of Balboa Island and Newport Beach. See you there in your southern attire!

Thanksgiving Day

When: Nov. 23

Put on your stretchy pants because Newport Beach’s best restaurants are serving up some delicious spreads! Whether you’re playing hostess this year and looking to cater or you want to leave the cooking to the pros and dine out this Thanksgiving, the options are endless! Lighting of the Bay at Newport Dunes

When: Nov. 24 – Dec. 31

Come celebrate Newport Dunes’ 33rd annual Lighting of the Bay! From Nov. 24 – Dec. 31, the Back Bay will come to life with festive floating holiday lights from dusk until 10 p.m. Watch as the calm waters transform into a vibrant winter wonderland featuring more than fifty lighted holiday decorations and Christmas trees. Roast s’mores around the fire as you cozy up with your fam and enjoy the resort’s surrounding holiday decor.

Fire & Ice Festival at Newport Dunes

When: Nov. 24 – Jan. 1

It’s the most magical time of the year! Experience the charm of the season at Newport Dunes’ captivating Fire & Ice Festival! Be part of the magic as the resort converts its bayside grounds into a whimsical winter paradise, featuring one of Orange County’s largest outdoor ice skating rinks, twinkling lights and cozy holiday scenes. Stroll through the holiday inflatable garden, snag a s’more kit and roast marshmallows at one of the fire pits, sip a hot toddy or hot chocolate from our rinkside Igloo bar and watch fire dancers perform Friday and Saturday nights. This is bound to be the event of the season!
