4 Activities to Enjoy During Thanksgiving Week

Thanksgiving is so close we can almost smell the gravy! But before you sit down to feast with family and friends this year, check out this list of activities to do during Thanksgiving week. From hiking and boating to shopping and post-holiday pampering, these Turkey Week to-dos will help you savor your precious days off. Here are five ways to enjoy the holiday this year in Newport Beach!

Lace Up Your Hiking Boots

Before the big feast, enjoy some fresh air and burn some calories by embarking on a hike! From the natural beauty of the Back Bay to the rugged coastline of Crystal Cove, Newport Beach is home to a variety of hiking trails with epic views. Take a stroll around the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve, or as locals call it, the “Back Bay,” and admire the calm waters. The Balboa Island Loop, a 2.5-mile paved path that offers views of the harbor and the island’s quaint cottages, is also a great place to get your steps in. If you’re an avid hiker, Crystal Cove State Park’s El Moro Canyon to Moro Ridge Loop is a challenging 9.5-mile trek that boasts stunning views at Emerald Bay Overlook.

Set Sail

Boating is one of the most popular activities in Newport Beach, and November is one of the most beautiful months to get out on the water. Soak up the fall sunshine on an electric boat, sailboat, or yacht charter (if you’re feeling fancy!). Kayaks and paddle-boards can also be rented if you prefer to turn your seafaring adventure into a mini workout. Our city is home to a variety of rental companies that’ll make your day at sea seamless! For more info on Newport Beach boat rentals and water sports, click here.

Good Gift Hunting

Use your days off to get a head start on holiday shopping! Newport Beach plays host to several top-notch shopping destinations with everything from local boutiques to big-name retailers. Start your spree in the charming Lido Marina Village—a seaside center known for its farm-to-table restaurants, chic boutiques, specialty stores and nautical vibes. Shop labels like Faherty, elysewalker, Jenni Kayne and Saturdays NYC. Then, head to Fashion IslandNewport Beach’s retail mecca—for a variety of name-brand shops and department stores like Bloomingdales, Anthropologie, Alo Yoga, Lucky Brand and more.

Recharge and Restore

After a day of cooking, eating and drinking, your mind and body deserve a little rest. Pamper yourself with a post-Thanksgiving spa day at Perspire Sauna Studio. Sweat out the holiday stress in one of their infrared sauna booths for a full-body recharge. After your sweat sesh, pop over to The Hydration Room for an IV treatment to replenish your body’s vitamins and electrolytes. The Hydration Room offers everything from vitamin C boosts to immune support and even hangover IV therapy.
