ExplorOcean Lecture Series –  DEEPSEA CHALLENGER Expedition, Bruce Sutphen
Descend to the deepest place on Earth, explore the ocean floor and conduct experiments with DEEPSEA CHALLENGER Expedition team member, Bruce Sutphen.

Bruce will discuss the anatomy of a 21st Century full ocean depth manned underwater vehicle, the DEEPSEA CHALLENGER.  From its one-of-a-kind vertical attitude to its innovative materials, the craft is a showcase of engineering innovation.
As the U.S Project Manager for the DEEPSEA CHALLENGER, he took part in the fabrication, assembly and operation of the submersible.  Bruce was also a member of the successful dive team to the Mariana and New Britain Trench’s.

Doors open at 30 minutes in advance Free for Members or $20 for Non-Members Registration and pre-payment are required.
