“Baroque youth orchestra, KONTRAPUNKTUS, will be returning to Newport Beach this winter with a special concert presentation, entitled THE BACHS.
THE BACHS commemorates the timeless classical music of Johann Sebastian Bach and three of his sons who went on to become illustrious composers in their own right-Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, Carl Phillip Emanuel Bach, and Johann Christian Bach. KONTRAPUNKTUS will also be performing new Baroque music from our gifted Composer-in Residence, Mark Moya.
KONTRAPUNKTUS is a classical youth Baroque orchestra comprised of exceptionally talented classical musicians from the prestigious Colburn School and is led by renowned early music harpsichordist and organist, Ian Pritchard. Joining him on stage will be Concertmaster, Kako Miura, violinists Madeleine Vaillancourt and Alena Hove, violists Ben Chilton and Christopher Rogers-Beadle, cellist, Vardan Gasparyan, bassist Eric Windmeier, and flutist, Sieon Choi.”
