The City of Newport Beach is launching its first-ever Art Week, a celebration of creativity, culture, and community. From exhibitions to live performances to classes across the city, Newport Beach Art Week will spotlight the artistic talent and cultural energy that connects with our community.
The 2026 Art Week will take place from Sunday, August 9, 2026, through Saturday, August 15, 2026. The City Arts Commission will kick off this celebration of the arts with a summer concert on Sunday, August 9 from 6-7:30 p.m. and end the week with the 59th Annual Newport Beach Art Exhibition, a juried art competition. Both events will take place at the Newport Beach Civic Center.
August 9: Pacific Symphony Concert
- Cost: FREE!
- Address: 100 Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach (Civic Center Green)
- Time: 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m (Family pre-concert activities, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and geared toward children 3 to 11 years old)
- Parking: Available at the Civic Center parking structure or across the street.
- Additional information: The public is encouraged to bring chairs and/or blankets; No tickets or pre-registration is required to attend; Food trucks available; Pre-concert activities include: Musical playground, face painting, balloon making, and more.6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Civic Center (Pre-concert activities, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.) Cost: Free. - “Garden Flow Dancing with Nature” for children and adults presented by Backhausedance at Sherman Library & Gardens, 2647 East Coast Highway, Corona del Mar; 1 to 2:30 p.m. No dance experience required; Pre-register by purchasing garden admission ticket: www.thesherman.org

August 12: Join local artist Joan Gladstone at OASIS Senior Center, 801 Narcissus, Corona del Mar, at 3 p.m. as she celebrates her 100th birthday of Route 66. Event is free.
August 13: Library Live Author Series, presented by the Library Foundation of Newport Beach at Witte Hall, 998 Avocado Avenue, Newport Beach. A book by Tim Greiving, “John Williams: A composer’s life.” Cost is $35 for Foundation members; $40 for non-members. August 14: Literary Tea with best-selling author, Nicola Harrison, from noon to 3 p.m., The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast. Celebrate Arts Week with an elegant afternoon of culinary delights and inspired discussion at this intimate afternoon tea. Guests will enjoy individual moments with Nicola as well a Q & A about her most recent novel, The Island Club, set on Balboa Island in the 1950’s, facilitated by Michelle Pierce, owner of Lido Village Books. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Please no outside books. Price: $95 per person, plus tax and gratuity
August 15:
- Newport Beach Art Exhibition, noon to 5 p.m., at Civic Center. Free family event with over 300 works of art, food, live music and craft and painting activities for children. Music from B side band and guest juror Julie Perlin Lee, executive director of the Laguna beach art museum.
- Exhibition of three artists: Leslie Allen, Terri Froelich, and Sharon Paster at Kennedy Contemporary, 323 Marine Avenue, Newport Beach, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Free event. No registration required.
- Exhibit and Concert at Gallery Sonder, 3435 East Coast Highway, Corona del Mar. Event starts at 6 p.m. with a private viewing, followed by a live concert at 7 p.m. by local indie art rock artist, Taji. Cost is $15 per person.
