Rooted in Love: A Sound Journey Honoring Mothers
What better way to celebrate a mother in your life than with the gift of relaxation in our garden! Treat a special Mom you know with the present of presence via an unforgettable sound bath experience.
If you’ve ever attended a sound bath before, this experience may feel familiar, and, Gene Jimenez offers something truly unique. His sessions are grounded in over 20+ years of emerging scientific research that supports the profound healing power of sound.
This is more than a sound bath — it’s a restorative experience rooted in ancient wisdom and modern science.
ATTIRE:
Comfortable, cozy, loose-fitting clothing. Whatever you like to relax in. It will get cooler as the night goes on, so we recommend bringing layers.
BRING:
- Favorite yoga mat, pillow, and DEFINITELY a blanket (remember, we are outside near the coast)
- Optional: Extra cushioning or blankets since participants will lay down on either the lawn or brick ground (space is on a first come first serve basis)
- Eye masks can be nice to have to block out the sunlight
NOTE:
If you know that whenever you lie down, you might fall asleep (just like me!), and you snore (again, like I do), you can prop yourself up with extra blankets, etc. And if you do fall asleep, the sound frequencies work just as well, so no worries.
AFTERWARDS:
You might want to bring a bottle of water for after the class. Allow the sound frequency to ruminate. You may feel floaty, light or just really good. All that and more is very normal. There are plenty of great restaurants in CdM and Newport Beach, so feel free to go enjoy a local eatery before or after the class. Nourish yourself and again, hydration will only support. AND, bring a coat or something to stay warm in. You may feel the cold air a little more intensely than normal, so plan to keep warm as you leave.
THE SCIENCE:
Recent studies have shown that the very same indigenous instruments used in Gene’s Sound Journeys — including Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, and Native American flutes — have a remarkable effect on the autonomic nervous system. These instruments have also been shown to increase oxygenation in the blood to levels that rival, and in some cases exceed, the benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. As nothing in the body heals without oxygen, Gene carefully curates each instrument in the journey not only for their deeply relaxing effects, but also for their scientifically supported ability to enhance physical and emotional well-being.
Space is limited to 40 participants.
