The Debra Huse Gallery and the Balboa Island Improvement Association are proud to present the tenth annual Just Plein Fun. Fourteen award-winning artists from across the country will paint scenes on beautiful Balboa Island, California July 27th-August 1st from sunrise to sunset. This unique plein air invitational is a must-see and fun for the whole family!
On Saturday, August 1st there will be a “Brush Off” on Marine Avenue from 4-6 pm. The public will watch as the artists compete to capture the best Balboa Island downtown scene and enjoy live music while the artists paint. Following the “Brush Off”, there will be an artist reception and awards presentation at the Debra Huse Gallery at 6:30 pm. Those in attendance can vote for their favorite Island scene and there will be a Just Plein Fun Passport raffle with fabulous prizes, including an original painting. Participating artists include: Tom Balderas, Tom Biagini, Michele Byrne, Debra Huse, Susie Hyer, Sally Jordan, Eileen McCullough, Fernando Micheli, Leon Okun, Rita Pacheco, and Vanessa Rothe. Just Plein Fun will be featured at the Debra Huse Gallery through Labor Day.
