Masterful string quartets by Boccherini, Haydn and Mozart in their socio-historical context. This program is focused around the musically enthusiastic and “cellistically” accomplished Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm, who was the nephew and successor of King Friedrich the Great. Baroque-Classical composer Luigi Boccherini was additionally a cellist; Haydn’s “The Bird” starts with a lovely cello tune; and Mozart’s last three string quartets, which include K.575 in D Major, were dedicated to Kaiser Friedrich. • Subscription to all five concerts: $325, includes premium, reservable, concert seating and a private catered dinner after the Festival Finale on June 29.
• A $5 processing fee is applied to all advance-purchase ticket orders. Concerts are popular and often sell out, so advanced purchase is advised.
• $10 Student Rush Tickets at the door, IF AVAILABLE, for ages 12-29, valid school and photo ID required; NMUSD students aged 12 and above may bring an adult for the same $10 rush price—proof of NMUSD enrollment is required.
