2021 Halloween Events in Newport Beach


Spooky season is upon us, which means it’s time to conjure up your best costume and celebrate! No plans yet? Let’s fix that! Newport Beach is creepin’ it real this season with a variety of spooktacular events for all ages. From haunted mazes and scary movies on the beach to costume contests and ghoulish eats, there’s plenty of fun to be had this October. So mark your calendars—you won’t want to miss these festive Halloween events!

“Cabinet of Curiosities” Boutique at Roger’s Gardens

Date: open daily

Time: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Welcome the season with some spooky shopping at Roger’s Gardens! This botanical home and garden destination is not only flourishing with greenery, but it’s also home to the best Halloween boutique in OC. Roger’s Gardens“Cabinet of Curiosities” is full of unusual artifacts shelved in sinister-styled rooms. Shop everything from glowing pumpkins and spiced candles to ghoulish decor that’ll give you the chills. Oh—and beware of the eyes on the wall that “follow” you wherever you go…

4th Annual Halloween Spooktacular at Mariners Park

Date: October 30, 2021

Time: 3 p.m.-dusk

With a trunk-or-treat, haunted maze, costume contest, games, bounce houses, food trucks and more, there’s fun for the whole family at the 4th Annual Halloween Spooktacular at Mariners Park! Come in costume and prepare for an evening of entertainment. This event will take place the night before Halloween and is free to attend. Food will also be available for purchase, so you can enjoy a tasty meal or dessert from local favorites like TK Burgers, Baja Surfing Taco and Sugar n’ Spice.

Creatures of the Night 2021: Sherman Library & Gardens

Date: October 29 & 30, 2021

Time: 5-8 p.m.

Spend Halloween weekend at the beautiful Sherman Library & Gardens in Corona del Mar this year, and experience a family-friendly evening of entertainment and education. Creatures of the Night will offer a glimpse at the habits of birds of prey and nocturnal animals. OC Birds of Prey, Santa Ana Zoo and Adventures in Living Science will share their knowledge and creatures with all who attend. Prepare for an eerie garden walk and a tour of the Forbidden Jungle!

Halloween at Balboa Bay Resort

Date: October 30 & 31, 2021

Time: 5-10 p.m.

If you haven’t experienced the newly refreshed A+O Restaurant | Bar at Balboa Bay Resort, now is the time! With spooky food and beverage specials, including Haunted Beef Tartare, Witches Deviled Eggs and specialty cocktails as well as live entertainment, Halloween at A+O Restaurant | Bar is sure to be a hit. Throw on your best costume, and be sure to save room for the Spooky Graveyard or Frankenstein’s Coffin for dessert.

Halloween Movies On the Beach: Newport Dunes

Date: October 30, 2021

Time: 6 p.m.

Grab your beach chairs and blankets this Halloween weekend, and set up camp on the sand at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina! This year, Newport Dunes will finish its Movies On the Beach series with a screening of Halloween classic Hocus Pocus on the sand. Bring the whole fam along with your favorite snacks and candy, and enjoy a festive and spooky evening on the beach.
