Stay & Play: Newport Dunes

STAY

Situated on the serene waters of Newport Beach’s Back Bay lies Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina — a family-friendly waterfront resort. This coastal retreat sits on 100 acres of lush landscaping and houses over 382 oversized RV sites and 24 cabins/cottages. Pull up your RV to one of Newport Dunes’ 1250 square-foot beachfront sites or 1575 square-foot supersites for a weekend of glamping, sun and sand! Newport Dunes offers RV campers access to the same amenities as any hotel guest plus more, including everything from hydrotherapy pools and beach access to waterfront dining and kid-friendly watersports. Each site features full hook-ups, picnic tables and RV parking, so you and your fam will feel fully equipped for your Back Bay staycation.

Not quite ready to glamp? No problem! Newport Dunes also offers beach cottage accommodations for those without an RV, so you can still enjoy all the perks of this picturesque resort. Beachfront and large cottages come equipped with queen-sized beds, a sofa bed, a loft, a kitchen and dining area, a smart TV and a bathroom and shower and can house up to six guests.

Suppose you’re looking for something a little more quaint. In that case, studio cottages feature twin-sized bunk beds, a sofa sleeper, a kitchen and dining area, a smart TV with cable and a bathroom with room for up to 4 guests (bedding, pillows, towels and coffee maker are not provided). One vehicle pass is included with each cottage reservation, and additional passes can be purchased for $25 per day.

No matter how you choose to stay, whether it be RV-style or in a charming cottage, you and your crew will love the five-star amenities at this laid-back bayside destination. Summer fun awaits at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina!

PLAY

Watersports and Water Park

As much as adults prefer to kick back and relax, we all know the kids will want some action. And while Newport Dunes is no doubt a peaceful place to lounge, it’s also known for its plethora of things to do. From paddleboard and kayak rentals to the inflatable floating water park, your kiddos are guaranteed a good time. Watch as they climb, slip and splash on the park’s towering waterslides, inflatables and icebergs—you’ll never hear a “Mommy, I’m bored” here!

Pools and Cabanas

Bounce back and forth between the salty bay and the serene resort pool complex at Newport Dunes. Soak up the sun at one of the four distinct pools, and if you’re feeling fancy, reserve a poolside cabana! These sumptuous relaxation centers feature an extended back patio, linen privacy drapes, plush furnishings and plenty of space to lounge. And when the kids get hungry (which they will), be sure to take full advantage of Newport Dunes’ poolside dining and catering cabana services. Indulge in tasty bites from Moe B’s Munchies and sip on signature margaritas while you and the fam catch some rays.

Duffy Boat Bay Cruises

Embark on a sunset cruise around the bay on an electric Duffy Boat! This is a great way to explore the calm waters on the Back Bay and spend some time together as a family. You might even catch a glimpse of a sea lion, dolphin or bale of sea turtles! Electric boat rentals start at $210 for two hours and $365 for four hours. But if you’d like something a little less pricey, look into renting a four-person pedal boat for $29 an hour—a great way to tire the kids out!

Movies on the Beach

When the evening rolls around, you won’t want to miss out on Newport DunesMovie on the Beach! Catch a flick by the sea and bundle up for a cozy family night in front of the big screen. Nothing beats snuggles on the sand, munching on some popcorn and watching a classic film under the starry night sky. To check out Newport Dunes’ full summer movie schedule, click here.
