An Unmatched Experience

Dock and Shop with a Waterfront View

One of the best ways to experience the sizzle of summer is on a boat. Thanks to plenty public docks and a stretch of Newport Beach shopping hotspots and restaurants on the water, you can enjoy a bite to eat or a bit of retail therapy on dry land, then go right back to exploring the harbor’s charming waterways. Like the sound of that? Here’s where to dock and shop this season in Newport Beach!

Where to Dock & Shop With a Waterfront View

Lido Marina Village

Dock your boat in this nook of town, and you’ll soon understand why it’s one of the best Newport Beach shopping destinations. Ready to stock up on summer wardrobe essentials? Head over to elysewalker, where you can pull together a perfectly curated capsule wardrobe, or LoveShackFancy, which keeps things fun and flirty with a feminine collection of floral and lace dresses. Does your skincare routine need a facelift? Duck into Aesop, an Australian-born purveyor of skin, hair and body products, or Cos Bar, which stocks its shelves with high-end beauty products, some of which are exclusive to the store. Lido Marina Village is also home to salons, home decor stores and gift shops that sate every shopper’s appetite.

A’MAREE’S

If you’re a local, you know. If you’re just passing through, you’ll know soon enough. A’MAREE’S boasts a commanding glass facade and, from the inside, some seriously stunning views, making it hard to miss. Ever since this family-run business moved into the landmark building about a decade ago, it has become a favorite Newport Beach shopping haunt, stocking high-fashion brands like Céline and Balenciaga. (You know it’s a swanky spot when Vogue makes a mention of it). In other words, it’s the perfect place to pick out a new sundress or a chic summer handbag!

Balboa Island

Like what you see at A’MAREE’S but don’t fancy the hefty price tag? Dock your boat at one of Balboa Island’s marinas, and head over to Marine Avenue—aka the island’s main street—to visit some of the neighborhood’s cutest shopping destinations like Isabelle’s Cabinet, Sundance Thrift Shop, Etc. Etc., Crush Clothing and Sunny Days. Many of these boutiques are locally owned and are chock-full of summer essentials. Shop everything from sun dresses and swimwear to sandals, souvenirs and 4th of July apparel!

Balboa Village

If you’re looking for a piece of Newport to take home with you, visit the shops in Balboa Village for one-of-a-kind souvenirs, beachy apparel and surf essentials. Visit Blue Sails for everything from seashells and nautical art to hats, sarongs, beach bags and more. Then, head over to Main Street Surf Shop, which has been around since 1979, to choose your next skateboard, surfboard, skimboard or wetsuit. If you need something fun to commemorate a great day of shopping in Newport Beach, check out Fun N Sun for souvenir shirts, bags and other gifts! And lastly, no visit to Balboa Village is complete without a stop at Balboa Candy, where you’ll find all of your favorite retro sweet treats including barrels on barrels of saltwater taffy.

A Few More Waterfront Shops to Check Out

Yokishop

Situated along West Coast Hwy, Yokishop turns used clothing items like football uniforms, military jackets and Levi jeans into fresh designs. Owner Jeff “Yoki” Yokoyama’s mission is to provide jobs and create a smaller carbon footprint by using existing products and materials that are often discarded. Here, each garment is cut by hand, and all the sewing is done in-house. To see what this little shop is all about, pull up your boat dockside and take a peek inside!

SeaVees

SeaVees brings laid-back California style to life with its brick-and-mortar location anchored in Lido Marina. Housed in a restored 1940s cottage on the corner of Via Lido and Via Oporto, the store captures the essence of vintage West Coast charm. The shop is known for its timeless sneakers for men, women and kids, but the brand also offers an easygoing mix of casual apparel and thoughtfully curated home goods from local makers. Whether you’re shopping for a gift or treating yourself, this coastal gem blends nostalgic vibes with modern craftsmanship—making it a must-visit shop in Newport Beach.

Legend Coastal

Located in the heart of Peninsula Village—a newly revitalized hub on Newport Beach’s lively Balboa Peninsula—Legend Coastal is a go-to destination for those who live and breathe the active, coastal lifestyle. This thoughtfully curated outdoor lifestyle store sits just steps from the docks and blends sustainability with style, featuring environmentally conscious brands like Patagonia, Vuori, Pendleton, Florence and Rhone. From natural body care and kids’ clothing to versatile apparel and accessories built for adventure, Legend Coastal celebrates the joy of exploring, whether you’re hitting the beach, trail or just cruising the coast.
