An Unmatched Experience

Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade Enhances Visitor Experience This Year With Improved Parade Route Map & Viewing Spots

NEWPORT BEACH, CA–(November 5, 2014) With more than a million visitors and counting expected to attend the 106th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade, through its partnership with Visit Newport Beach, the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce is enhancing the experience for locals and tourists with a new parade route map, free viewing spots to watch the parade, dine & watch locations around town, dine & walk locations around town and easier parking options.

A refreshed parade route map will ensure visitors have an easier time finding the best place to watch with friends and family for free as well as locate restaurants around town that are in walking distance of the parade or offer a great view right from the comfort of your table. In addition, we are very excited that this year visitors will be able to purchase grandstand seats at two great locations around the parade route, the Newport Sea Base and ExplorOcean. Advance reservations are suggested, as seats will sell out fast!

The Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade and Ring of Lights Home Decorating Competition is Newport Beach’s Christmas card to the world. The boat parade runs for five consecutive nights, beginning Wednesday, December 17 and ending Sunday, December 21, 2014. Each night the parade starts at Bay Island at 6:30 p.m. and finishes at the same site at approximately 9:00 p.m., completing its 14.7-mile route around Newport Harbor.

The theme for the 2014 Christmas Boat Parade is “Deck the Hulls with Bows of Jolly”.

The Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade and Ring of Lights are organized by the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce. The organizing committees look forward each year to see how the boat owners and homeowners will decorate around the theme. Some boat owners in the past have spent over $50,000 to decorate their vessels for the event.

With a significant positive financial impact on the city, especially to its restaurants, hotels and charters in terms of tourism, marketing and generating business during the holiday season, the Parade continues to be a highlight of the Newport Beach lifestyle.

Presenting sponsors of the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade and Ring of Lights are the City of Newport Beach, Visit Newport Beach, Inc.,
Simple Green and Meguiar’s.
