An Unmatched Experience

VEA Newport Beach: Coming Spring 2022

VEA Pool Deck

This spring, locals and visitors can book a vacation at the all-new VEA Newport Beach, a Marriott Resort & Spa! Formerly the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa, this centrally located property is undergoing a total top-to-bottom reimagination. Guests can look forward to new coastal-chic guest rooms, two new suite categories, three newly imagined dining concepts, a wellness-focused spa, a high-performance fitness center, expansive indoor and outdoor event spaces and a luxury destination pool experience.

VEA, which means “see,” will celebrate the property’s defining ocean and city views and offer experiences that embody the quintessential elements of Newport Beach. And given its unique location, situated just steps from Fashion Island and only a short drive from the coast, VEA Newport Beach will serve as a “social sanctuary”—a place to get away in the center of it all. The property will feature a vibrant pool scene, regular live music performances, designer fashion

experiences at neighboring Fashion Island and dynamic culinary experiences. But for those in search of a secluded staycation, the hotel will also be a place for tucking away, whether it betime spent in a wellness suite or at the all-new SpaVea.

In terms of design, the hotel is being refresh to focus on the property’s iconic ocean view. From warm woods and muted neutrals to delicate marble and sculptural glass, the materials used in the reconstruction of VEA will embody the essence of the world’s greatest waterfront destinations from around the world. “This fuses seamlessly with the unique spirit of California’s own ‘Riviera’ to set the scene for a gathering place alive with both sophisticated energy and treasured pockets of tranquility…” remarks General Manager Debbie Snavely of Marriott.

On both the front and backside of the lobby, folding glass NanaWalls will create a true indoor-outdoor experience, while the hotel entrance will welcome guests with a breathtaking pier-inspired entrance with a massive circular waterfall that leads into the lobby. Step inside, and you’ll find a signature restaurant and lounge with golf course and ocean views, along with commissioned artwork and a European-inspired coffee bar and patisserie, which will transition into a wine bar in the evenings.

As for the rooms, guests can expect soft, beach-inspired color palettes (think tans, grays and blues), Frette robes and bath towels, crisp linens, luxury Molton Brown bathroom amenities, Nespresso machines, firepits (in select premium rooms) and more.

And when the mood for food strikes, VEA will offer three new food and beverage outlets, including a spacious Mediterranean restaurant/lounge at the heart of the hotel, a Euro-style coffee bar and patisserie in the lobby lounge and a poolside terrace bar with a menu of California-inspired bites, including fresh local seafood, craft beers and signature cocktails.

In addition to VEA’s refreshed design, luxury coastal guest rooms and new dining outlets, the hotel will also welcome a saltwater pool, fitness center with a yoga studio and a 14,000-square-foot spa with 14 treatment rooms. There will also be new cabanas and several private event lawns for meetings and celebrations.

It’s safe to say, VEA will be Newport Beach’s grandest addition in 2022!
