Newport Spirit Run is a 42-year Newport Beach tradition that presents running and walking events for every age from toddlers to seniors, and every fitness level, from elite runners to walkers.  An event day expo includes a food truck, live music, youth activities, fitness information, shopping and more.

The 2026 Spirit Run is expanding in a major way:

·       Relocating from Fashion Island to Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort;

·       featuring race courses that traverse Upper Newport Bay (the Bay);

·       introducing the first half marathon at the Bay in more than 20 years for adults to its traditional 5k and mile distances for adults, kids and families;

·       a Beach Dash on the sand next to the Bay for ages 4 to 6 and a Toddler Trot for ages 1 to 3; and

·       adding the Newport Bay Conservancy as a beneficiary and to bring an environmental focus to the event.

Newport Spirit Run will be an environmentally sustainable event featuring measures to reduce waste and promote environmental awareness, particularly around the Bay.

Net proceeds from the Spirit Run will benefit local schools, youth sports programs, other youth causes, and the Newport Bay Conservancy.
