One of the most memorable features of our town is the pier. Built in 1906 in conjunction with the Balboa Pavilion, the Balboa Pier has been delighting locals and visitors alike with a sparkling view of the Pacific for over a century. At 920 feet long, our wooden pier is well worth the walk (especially when there’s a Ruby’s shake waiting for you at the end of it).

One of the hallmarks of visiting Balboa Village has to be going down to the Fun Zone. As one of the oldest coastal amusement destinations, the Fun Zone has brought family-friendly entertainment with a seaside nautical museum, a classic arcade, and even a Ferris Wheel that’s been spinning since 1936. It’s the perfect place to relive some nostalgia while also making new memories.

Adventure’s a breeze when you’re in Balboa Village! Explore the village like a local by renting a bicycle from Balboa Beach & Bicycle Boutique. Want to see the village from a different point of view? Try enjoying boat rides on crystalline water, taking the ferry to Balboa Island, or even getting a bird’s eye view on our iconic Ferris Wheel. Whether you’re looking for something to get your heart pumping or for something to take your breath away, you’ll find it here.

Good Eats and Sweet Treats

Every adventure must have these three necessities: tasty snacks, a wholesome meal, and a decadent dessert.
