Where to find clean eats in Newport Beach

August 22, 2019

You did it. You squeezed into your lululemons and hit the gym or your local spin studio. Your metabolism is cranked to its highest setting and all that extra energy has worked up an appetite. Here’s the hard part: Deciding what to eat after working up a sweat. If you’re not in the mood to cook up a storm in the kitchen, head over to these local bites serving up a trove of healthy options during Wellness Week.

GuacAmigos

We’re suckers for any cuisine that harnesses the power of avocados for good, and GuacAmigos’ expansive menu offers up a slew of nutritious dishes. Here’s a no-brainer; order the spicy ahi tower. It’s 20% off during wellness week, and stacked with healthy ingredients like fresh diced mango, avocado and sliced hothouse cucumbers. Served with crisp plantain chips, sriracha crema and spicy cilantro lime, this is the app that will keep you coming for more.

Back Bay Bistro

If you’re craving something hearty after cardio, head on over to Back Bay Bistro, which is serving up special menu items during wellness week. The wellness menu features a turkey and veggie burger, a signature quinoa salmon salad and a hummus platter – ideal for sharing.

Red O

From the lobster and shrimp salad to the Alaskan halibut, there are so many noshes on Red O’s menu that will likely hog your attention. But this week, we’re turning our heads (and stomachs) to the place’s power bowl offerings, which are 20% off during wellness week. The Paleo Green Bowl, for example, is a well-balanced blend of veggie champs like broccoli, asparagus, English peas, pasilla peppers and shaved carrots, all anchored by a helping of shrimp. Equally satisfying and substantial? Red O’s Keto Power bowl and Salmon Risotto bowl.

Harborside Restaurant

The “From the Sea” section on Harborside’s menu is about as vast as the ocean itself. During wellness week, order one of the seafood dishes—grilled; fresh Atlantic salmon served with steamed baby spinach and organic wild rice—plus a glass of iced tea, all for $19. The place is known for its harbor views, so snag a window seat, and enjoy the view while getting your protein fill for the day.
