An Unmatched Experience

President’s Day a President’s Way in NB

Every President who has served the United States of America has left their own legacy on our country. In honor of President’s Day, we’re rounding up some Newport Beach experiences to help salute our forefathers based on their own interests, hobbies and contributions!

Theodore Roosevelt – Pay tribute to Teddy Roosevelt’s passion for our State Parks by visiting Crystal Cove State Park. The Crystal Cove State Park is comprised of 3.5 miles of pristine uninterrupted coastline, favored by hikers, campers and trailblazers. The Crystal Cove Historic District is an enclave of 46 vintage rustic coastal cottages originally built in the 1920s and 1930s nestled around the mouth of Los Trancos Creek. It is one of the last remaining examples of early 20th century Southern California coastal development.

John F. Kennedy – J.F.K. would be right at home in Newport Harbor, reminiscent of his Cape Cod roots. Be sure to explore everything our charming harbor has to offer. The waterfront is lined with beautiful homes, marinas, yacht clubs, restaurants and a resort, and the harbor is afloat with yachts, electric Duffy boats, standup paddleboards and sailboats, large and small.

Barack Obama – If the Obama family were to visit Newport Beach, you can guarantee they’d bring their lovable former “first pups” along – Bo and Sunny! These pooches would be more than welcome at a variety of our dog-friendly hotels; Balboa Bay Resort, Balboa Inn the Resort, Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, Fashion Island Hotel and Newport Beach Marriott Bayview. And Bo & Sunny Obama would want to definitely run free and meet their local furry friends at the dog park located near the Civic Center!

Abraham Lincoln – Lincoln certainly left an enormous legacy on our nation. At Fashion Island, you can check out one of his luxury namesakes at the Lincoln Experience Center. The first-ever Lincoln Experience Center provides the highest expression of the Lincoln brand bringing sensory exploration, local flavor, curated experiences and tastemaker events to Center Stage. Test drive a Lincoln and relax in style at this innovative location.

Richard Nixon – One of Nixon’s getaways was his “West Coast White House” just south of Newport Beach in San Clemente. Chances are, Nixon could have routed his helicopter through John Wayne Airport. With such convenience and ease, John Wayne Airport allows any visitor to arrive in Newport Beach feeling just like a President!

Bill Clinton – Clinton has a passion for jazz music and can even play the saxophone! Share in his love for jazz by attending the Sunset Jazz at Newport at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa. Enjoy 11 Wednesday Summer Nights starting July 11 through September 19 with great music, wine, food, and sunsets!

George W. Bush – After his time in the White House, Bush took up a new hobby – painting. Given his love of the arts, Bush would certainly enjoy a stroll through the Sculpture Exhibition in Civic Center Park, featuring a variety of unique sculptures of all shapes and sizes. After being inspired by the art in Newport Beach, he might just sit at Inspiration Point in Corona del Mar to work on his own painting of our beautiful scenery.
