October brings a full lineup of fall fun to Newport Beach. Kick off the month with incredible food and drinks at Relish or an evening under the stars at the 2nd Annual Botanical Ball, then browse your way through the Fall Shopping Bazaar and StyleWeekOC. Mid-month, the Newport Beach Film Festival brings a week of cinema and celebrations to the coast, while the Newport Beach Volleyball (4-Man) Invitational heats up the sand at Blackie’s Beach. Come hungry! RELISH – A Food, Wine & Spirits Experience returns Oct. 2-4 for a three-day celebration of all things culinary. Hosted at VEA Newport Beach and Park Club Costa Mesa, the weekend brings together acclaimed chefs, standout wines and spirits, and plenty of opportunities to sip and savor. The lineup includes a grand tasting and cocktail party, chef-led luncheon, cheese and wine experience, Culinary Icons Dinner, Sunday brunch and more.
2nd Annual Botanical Ball

Where: Sherman Library & Gardens
An enchanting evening awaits at Sherman Library & Gardens on Oct. 3 for the 2nd Annual Botanical Ball. Guests can wander the gardens with Champagne and signature cocktails in hand, enjoy elevated bites and take part in a live auction before the evening turns into dancing under the stars. Beyond the festivities, the annual fundraiser supports Sherman Library & Gardens and its programs for children, families, arts and education.

Fashion, film and a little star power come together at StyleWeekOC at Fashion Island from Oct. 14-18. Held in partnership with the Newport Beach Film Festival, the multi-day celebration blends style and entertainment with film premieres, fashion presentations, exclusive brand activations, expert panels and special events. It’s a chance to see what’s next in fashion while experiencing one of Newport Beach’s biggest weeks of the year and enjoying a little fall retail therapy too!

Hollywood meets the coast this October when the Newport Beach Film Festival takes over town from Oct. 15-22, 2026. The annual celebration brings filmmakers, movie lovers and industry talent together for a week filled with independent and international cinema, red-carpet moments, special showcases and plenty of festivities beyond the theater. Now in its 27th year, this signature Newport Beach event is the perfect excuse to catch a screening, grab dinner nearby and make a night of it.
Newport Beach Volleyball (4-Man) Invitational
When: Oct. 17-18
Where: Blackie’s Beach
Beach volleyball takes center stage at Blackie’s Beach when the Newport Beach Volleyball Invitational hits the sand Oct. 17-18, 2026. Set against the backdrop of the Newport Beach Pier, the two-day tournament brings an impressive lineup of Olympians, AVP standouts and beach volleyball legends to town to compete in men’s and women’s four-person teams for a $200,000 prize purse. Spectators can watch from the sand for free or get even closer to the action with reserved and VIP seating options.
50th Annual Fall Faire & Pumpkin Patch
When: Oct. 18
Where: Environmental Nature Center
Celebrate the season surrounded by nature at the Environmental Nature Center’s 50th Annual Fall Faire & Pumpkin Patch on Oct. 18. This free October event in Newport Beach has all the makings of a perfect fall day, with a pumpkin patch, tasty bites from local OC restaurants, a Craft Crawl winding along the trails and nature games throughout the ENC. Stop by the Fire Circle Stage for live performances, browse and bid in the online auction, and spend the afternoon exploring the grounds. Proceeds help support the ENC’s environmental education programs and mission.
Drew Baldridge Concert
When: Oct. 18
Where: VEA Newport Beach
Country music meets the coast when Drew Baldridge takes the stage at VEA Newport Beach on Oct. 18. Set outdoors on the resort’s Sunset Lawn, the afternoon pairs live music with sweeping coastal views, food, drinks and an easygoing open-air atmosphere. Rising country singer-songwriter Alyssa Flaherty will kick things off before Baldridge brings his Nashville sound and heartfelt storytelling to the stage. Doors open at 3 p.m., with the show beginning at 4:30 p.m.
9th Annual Halloween Spooktacular
When: Oct. 24
Where: Mariners Park
Get those costumes ready! The 9th Annual Halloween Spooktacular takes over Mariners Park on Oct. 24 for an afternoon of family-friendly Halloween fun. This free community celebration has plenty to keep little ghosts and ghouls entertained, including trunk-or-treating, a haunted walkthrough, carnival games, bounce houses, pumpkin decorating, music and food trucks. Stick around for the costume contest, with categories ranging from spookiest and funniest to best duo, family and even dog costume.
