8 September Events to Add to Your Calendar
Fall is just a few days away, and while us west coasters may not see a change in the color of our leaves, we get to enjoy sunny-and-75 weather almost year-round! We still look forward to things like pumpkin spice lattes, nights by the fire and bundling up on cooler evenings. The best part? We don’t have to wear 10 layers and shovel snow off our driveways when we want to go out. So let’s count our blessings and gear up for some September fun! Newport Beach has tons in store this month, from outdoor concerts to gardening workshops this month—here’s a sneak peek!
Date: September 24 from 12 to 5 p.m.
Come experience Lido Marina Village’s Vintage Market this September, held every fourth Friday of the month from 12-5 p.m. Here, you can shop hand-picked vintage items from around the globe, including clothing, shoes, jewelry, bags and more! Enjoy gorgeous fall weather, ocean views and live music from local musicians as you shop! Then, head to happy hour at one of the village’s many restaurants, such as Malibu Farm, Lido Bottle Works or Zinqué.

For the past 25 years, The Balboa Island Artwalk has remained the premier showcase for local artists. Come enjoy art, music and fun for the whole family along the South Bayfront Promenade. This fine art show features 100 artists and their work, including paintings, blown glass, fine jewelry, sculptures, and photography. Admission is free, and attendees will enjoy live music all day long on five different stages along the walk!

Live music is back at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach! Come enjoy great food, wine and music as talented musicians perform in a beautiful outdoor setting. Lucky for us SoCal dwellers, September is typically warm—even warm enough to enjoy some time on the water. And this month, locals and visitors can experience the beauty and serenity of Upper Newport Bay with a guided kayak tour! As you paddle along, keep your eyes peeled for an abundance of wetland wildlife like shorebirds, ducks, terns and grebes.

At Corona del Mar State Beach, the city’s 59th Annual Sandcastle Contest will take place this September! Bring your team and prepare to compete in this exciting community event. This year’s theme is “Explore the World!”, and participants have the opportunity to win cash prizes. This annual event attracts thousands of spectators and participants, ranging from seasoned pros to first-timers! Come witness these jaw-dropping creations and enjoy a sun-drenched day at the beach!
