A visit to The Resort at Pelican Hill is like taking a trip to Italy without a passport. The Resort’s classic Italian-style architecture, artwork and lush landscaping create a relaxing Tuscan Villa ambiance.

The Resort is taking its Italian heritage to another level with its fourth Festa dell’Autunno, an autumn festival that takes place Oct. 10 – 12. The festival features a series of events that include authentic Italian cuisine, live entertainment, art, and children’s activities.

The Festa weekend starts Friday, Oct. 10 with a Guest Chef Wine Dinner at Andrea Ristorante from 6 to 10 p.m. This multi-course dinner includes autumn ingredients paired with Italian wines, and is presented by guest chef Massimiliano Mascia from Ristorante San Domenico, one of Italy’s finest Michelin Star restaurants. Cost is $195 per person.

On Saturday, Oct. 11 from noon until 5 p.m. is the popular Italian Street Festa that takes place along the Resort’s olive tree-lined lanes. During this traditional celebration of harvest, you can savor regional Italian cuisine and imported wines, enjoy live music and authentic entertainment, watch visual artists at work, and experience colorful pageantry. Cost is $120 per adult, $55 per child under age 12.

That evening from 6 to 10 p.m. is Festa dell’Unitá, an al fresco dining experience with lively music and dancing in a rustic outdoor setting. Cost is $140 per person.

While adults are enjoying the Street Festa, children ages 4 – 12 can experience special activities at Carnevale dei Bambini at Camp Pelican. Special afternoon and evening sessions are available. During the afternoon session, children can learn traditional Italian dancing, create hand-decorated flags and Venetian masks, and dress up in costumes for a Street Festa procession. Cost is $95 per child.

During the evening session from 6 – 10 p.m., resort chefs teach the art of pizza-making, from rolling dough and making sauce to grating cheese and adding toppings. After making pizza, kids can enjoy popcorn and a movie. Cost is $75 per child.

Wake up in paradise on Sunday morning, Oct. 12, with an ocean-view jazz brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. that includes endless Prosecco mimosas and performances by a jazz trio. $100 per adult, $40 per child under age 12.
