Fall in Newport Beach is one of our favorite seasons, so we’ve rounded up a few festive events and activities to add to your calendar this month. From bayside brunches to turkey trots, these happenings prove that our city is one of the best places to visit in California in November.

Thanksgiving Day

When: Nov. 28

Put on your stretchy pants on because Newport Beach’s best restaurants are serving up some delicious spreads this November! Whether you’re playing hostess this year and looking to cater or you want to leave the cooking to the pros and dine out this Thanksgiving, the culinary options are endless! 34th Annual Lighting of the Bay at Newport Dunes

When: Nov. 29 – Jan. 6

Come celebrate Newport Dunes’ 34th annual Lighting of the Bay! From Nov. 29 through Jan. 6, the Back Bay will come to life with festive floating holiday lights from dusk until 10 p.m. Watch as the calm waters transform into a vibrant winter wonderland featuring more than 50 glowing holiday decorations and Christmas trees. And be sure to add the opening night celebration to your calendar, which will feature food concessions, holiday crafts and a beachside holiday movie showing. Guests can also snap photos with Santa and enjoy a mesmerizing fire dance performance before the ceremony!

Fire & Lights Festival at Newport Dunes

When: Nov. 29 – Jan. 5

It’s the most magical time of the year! Experience the charm of the season at Newport Dunes’ captivating Fire & Lights Festival! Be part of the magic as the resort converts its bayside grounds into a whimsical winter paradise, featuring one of Orange County’s largest outdoor ice skating rinks, an igloo-themed bar and cozy fire pits for roasting s’mores. Stroll through the holiday inflatable garden, snap photos in the holiday-themed “Elf Yourself” photo booth and pick out a fresh pine at the tree lot. With perfect Newport Beach weather in November, this is bound to be the event of the season.

LittlesGiving at Lido Marina Village

When: Nov. 14

Gather your little ones and head to the Lido Deck at Lido Marina Village for an unforgettable morning of family fun at LittlesGiving! Hosted by The Picnic Collective, this cozy, festive event welcomes Lido’s youngest guests for a special celebration on Nov. 14 from 10-11:30 a.m. Set against stunning harbor views, this Newport Beach event will include a delightful boxed brunch for kids, accompanied by light bites for adults. Kids will also have the opportunity to dive into fun crafts and activities. Don’t miss this moment of togetherness!

Tree Lightings in Newport Beach

This holiday season, Newport Beach sparkles with festive tree-lighting events that are perfect for celebrating the season. VEA Newport Beach kicks things off with its 3rd Annual Holiday Tree Lighting on Nov. 21 at 5:30 p.m., offering guests a cozy night of hot cocoa, sweet treats, live entertainment and a visit from Santa. This free event is open to the local community, creating a warm holiday atmosphere for all. Meanwhile, over at Balboa Bay Resort, the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec. 1 includes a theatrical performance by OCSA’s MONTAGE, setting the stage for a series of spirited holiday happenings. Lastly, Fashion Island’s renowned nightly tree lighting starts on Nov. 22, casting a festive glow over the shopping center with a light show every thirty minutes from 5:30-8 p.m. through Dec. 29.
