10 Newport Beach Easter Temptations


This Easter, whether you’re taking the kids egg hunting or simply visiting with the Easter bunny, it is the perfect time to spend it with family and the people you love. It is also when families gather to enjoy a leisurely Easter brunch whether it be a buffet style spread, a la carte dining, or simply a relaxing lunch by the water, you will find a host of options in Newport Beach to suit your fancy.

Whatever it is you’re hoping to accomplish this Easter, know that we have done the bulk of the work for you. The only thing you need to worry about is making a reservation.

Back Bay BistroBack Bay Bistro

If you’re planning to attend Easter Sunrise Service at Newport Dunes, why not follow with a gourmet Easter Sunday Brunch at Back Bay Bistro, offered from 9am to 2pm. Enjoy Newport Back Bay as your backdrop, and indulge in signature breakfast dishes including a build-your-own omelette station, a carving station featuring honey-glazed ham, and New York strip steak. A seafood station with King crab legs will tickle those seafood lovers in your party. An array of desserts including white and milk chocolate fountains will delight the children. Bottomless champagne and mimosas are included for the adults, while the children will love a visit with the Easter bunny.

Easter Brunch is $79 for adults (includes bottomless Champagne and Mimosas) and $38 for children 12 years and under. Reservations are recommended. Tax and 18% service charge is not reflected in the per person charge.

Balboa Bay ResortBalboa Bay Resort

Executive Chef Rachel Haggstrom and her team are putting together a spectacular buffet on Easter Sunday. From 10am to 2pm, you can stroll around the resort’s grand ballroom starting at the Salad Bar complete with a myriad of ingredients to compose your own masterpiece. At the salad station, you will also find an array of nibbles such as Deviled Eggs, and a healthful offering of Millet and Quinoa Salad dotted with asparagus, peas and fava beans. A splendid charcuterie station will feature assorted imported and domestic cheeses, and an array of cured meat and house made pate, and pickles. At the carving station, you’ll find Harissa Spiced Leg of Lamb served with cucumber raita, as well as Brown Sugar Glazed Ham with mustard jus. You’ll want to leave room for a host of hot dishes like Eggs Benedict, Goat Cheese and Tomato, Spinach Quiche, and Black Cod in a wine butter sauce. Kids have a station of their own featuring Chicken Skewers, Mac n Cheese, and more to keep them busy. Finish with a dessert extravaganza of choices ranging from Flourless Chocolate Cake, Lemon Meringue, to French macarons and more. Adults $86/Children $43.

BeachcomberThe Beachcomber at Crystal Cove

At The Beachcomber, you will dine surrounded by stunning ocean views with a menu filled with options that will please the whole family. Whether you’re an early riser, or prefer to mosey on down later in the day, The Beachcomber has you covered. Easter Sunday brunch starts at 7am and runs until 4pm, with a two-course brunch menu offering bottomless champagne, mimosas or orange juice. Start with Beignets and Ambrosia, a platter which includes fresh seasonal fruit with a sweet vanilla yogurt drizzle and homemade granola. Then, choose from numerous entrées that will tantalize your palate. The classic Surf and Turf which offers Nana’s Crab Cake alongside a 6oz grilled top sirloin steak with a poached egg is available, as well as many delightful choices such as Corned Beef Hash, and more. Vegetarian diners will relish in the egg white Frittata packed with roasted tomatoes, asparagus, braised rainbow Swiss chard, mushrooms, smoked Gouda cheese and served with roasted Spanish potatoes and artisan toast.

Easter Day Brunch at The Beachcomber is from 7am to 4pm. Adults $39.95 Children $14.95, includes glass of Champagne, Mimosa or orange juice, soda or coffee.

The BungalowThe Bungalow

At The Bungalow, enjoy a $29 Easter Brunch beginning with a basket of freshly baked assorted muffins, coupled with your choice of juice or coffee. Bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Marys are available at an additional $10 per guest. Start with the Lobster Bisque or Heirloom Tomato Salad before settling in to one of the entrée selections, ranging from breakfast favorites such as Eggs Benedict Your Way, and a Grilled Vegetable Tart to Grilled King Salmon, California Chicken Breast or go all out and indulge in either the Roast Prime Rib of Beef or New York Strip and Eggs for a $6 supplement. For those 12 years and under, there is a special menu for $14 which includes Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Spaghetti or Mixed Berry Waffle. Easter Brunch is served from 10am to 3pm.

Five CrownsFive Crowns

Celebrate Easter at Five Crowns with either brunch from 10am to 3pm, or dinner from 4pm to 8pm. Executive Chef Alejandra Padilla has created special three-course menus featuring holiday favorites and classic accompaniments to indulge in. Both brunch and dinner prix-fixe menus highlight succulent starters such as Lobster Bisque with creme fraiche, or Cauliflower Soup with crushed walnuts and parsley oil. Mouthwatering mains feature Crab Benedict with poached eggs, Bearnaise sauce and truffle potatoes on the brunch menu, and Colorado Lamb Chops with Stilton mashed potatoes, sauteed spinach, and lamb jus on the dinner menu. End your meal with decadent dessert options including Meyer Lemon Beignets during brunch, and Creme Brulee with champagne berries at dinner.

Fleming's Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar

This Easter, enjoy a three-course prix fixe brunch at the beautifully remodeled Fleming’s complete with an expansive patio. The special brunch menu includes choices in each course, as well as a children’s menu for the little ones. Start with a featured cocktail of bacon and blue cheese Bloody Mary, or Sonoma Sparkler — Fleming’s signature passion fruit mimosa (priced at $8.95 each) — before indulging in an exclusive menu that the whole family can enjoy. Featuring appetizer choices such as Lobster Bisque, or Housemade Burrata Salad, then moving on to entrees like Fleming’s signature Eggs Benedict with filet mignon or crab cake, and California-style Steak & Eggs before finishing off with the tantalizing New York Cheesecake with blueberry sauce, or Tahitian Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee.

Three-course brunch: $50 per adult, $16 per child (age 12 and under). Fleming’s a la carte menu will also be available.

Lighthouse Cafe

Lighthouse Bayview Cafe

Lighthouse Bayview Cafe located at Marina Park offers outdoor, waterfront dining with breathtaking views as well as dock and dine capabilities should you wish to arrive by boat. This Easter, Chef Ryan Sumner has a menu of delights for you to choose from. Start with mouthwatering Maple and Pepper Glaze Thick Cut Bacon, or some delicious Jumbo Lump Crab Tacos. For entrees, choose something light, such as Avocado Country Toast with jalapeño cilantro relish, roasted tomato, pink hard-boiled egg with tomato vinaigrette, or go all out and indulge in the Herb Crusted New Zealand Lamb Chops with sweet potato puree, and a fig port reduction. Easter brunch is served from 7am to 4pm.

Oak GrillOak Grill

Fashion Island Hotel’s Oak Grill will be serving Easter Sunday Brunch from 10.30am to 3.30pm at its fireside patio. Start your morning with traditional brunch favorites such as Build-Your-Own Omelettes and a Pancake Bar, or dive straight into On The Water oyster, shrimp and a build-your-own-poke station. Straight-from-the-farm salads, as well as a Chef’s Carving Corner serving up meats and fish such as Herb Roasted Chicken and Whole Planked Salmon will delight even the fussiest of palates. Kids will love all the live-action stations, especially those offering chicken tenders, hot dogs and other kid-friendly favorites. Don’t forget sweet temptations such as Vanilla Bean Cupcakes, Lemon Panna Cotta, Oreo Cheesecake and Strawberry Lemonade Cake. Bottomless Mimosas are included.

$90 adults/$25 kids ages five to 12. Children four years and under eat free. Pricing excludes tax and gratuity.

The WineryThe Winery

Chef Yvon Goetz welcomes you and your family to The Winery this Easter.  with a 3-course menu priced at $46.95/person. Start with Santa Barbara Smoked Salmon or Maine Lobster Bisque served with a mini crab cake and chive Chantilly, Chef Yvon’s take on a classic favorite. There is no shortage of choices when it comes time for entrées. Revel in the restaurant’s Eggs Benedict elevated with Brandt beef and sun-dried tomato Hollandaise sauce. Seafood lovers will find Chili Lime Rubbed Hawaiian Mahi Mahi and a Wild White Shrimp & Lump Crab Spring Organic Vegetable Risotto to their liking. Meat lovers may indulge in Braised Short Rib Hash & Fried Eggs. Finish with a selection of petit fours created by The Winery’s Pastry Chef. Brunch at The Winery is served from 10.30am to 2pm.
