An Unmatched Experience

Eat. Sea. Do. in Fashion Island

Fashion Island has been Southern California’s go-to shopping experience since its grand opening in 1967. Since then, the outdoor shopping mall has branched out from its four original department stores, fifty-two specialty boutiques, and two restaurants into an empire of over 150 businesses. Open-air, dog-friendly, and always a fun way to pass the time, Fashion Island has become a delight for tourists and locals alike.

Start your day off by grabbing a coffee and pastry at one of Fashion Island’s lovely cafes, then take a stroll around the grounds. Make sure to visit the serene koi pond that thousands have flocked to since it was built in 1969. You can even see a new blockbuster in style at The Lot. The Lot, which opened in April 2018, gives its guests a luxury dining and movie-viewing experience. Now you’ll never have to rush to squeeze in a meal before your movie time! Kick back in a plush theater seat, indulge in a beer and a gourmet meal, and enjoy the show.

Whether you’re looking for your next favorite outfit or for a fun, new specialty item, you’ll be able to find it here at Fashion Island. Between the vast array of specialty boutiques and the four main department stores (Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom), you’ll have access to anything and everything you’d ever dream of.

Need a new pair of glasses? Come check out the innovative designer specs at Dita. This stunning eyewear boutique offers an incredible selection of unique luxury frames and lenses that are sure to turn heads. Looking to be more active? The fun and friendly staff at Athleta can help you look and feel amazing in their sustainable, ethically crafted workout wear.

While the shops and boutiques are the main allure of Fashion Island, don’t forget to take a look at the mall’s wonderful eateries. Between the beautiful outdoor scenery and the endless summer vibes of the Southern California coast, wining and dining at this mall is always a treat. No matter what sort of flavors and price points you are looking for, Fashion Island has something for everyone and every budget.

Try enjoying a meal alfresco at Cucina Enoteca’s breath-taking patio. The restaurant’s light and whimsical menu gives guests a fresh look at contemporary Italian cuisine in an intimate, lush environment. And their wine list and boutique showcase some of the most unique and delectable wines the world has to offer. Speaking of drinks and patios, if you’re looking for your next cocktail hour, head over to Fireside at Oak Grill before departing from the Fashion Island area. Located in the Fashion Island Hotel, Fireside is the place to go to wind down and enjoy a cocktail and some company after a long day of shopping and exploring. With the stunning views of the resort and of Fashion Island itself, Fireside brings together a relaxed atmosphere that’s perfect for mingling and enjoying the warm glow of a fire.

No matter if you’re local or you’re visiting from out of town, Fashion Island wouldn’t be the shopping destination it is without its close proximity to its neighboring hotels. Stay a while at the luxurious Fashion Island Hotel or the simply stunning Marriott. And when you’re a guest, don’t worry about driving over to the mall; the shuttle can take care of your transportation for you!

From its humble, dirt road beginning to the glamor and glitz it has today, Fashion Island has created a name for itself and for Newport Beach alike. So next time you have a day or even a few hours to spare in Newport Beach, Fashion Island has everything you need to make your time there extraordinary.
