An Unmatched Experience

Making the most of Fat Tuesday

The Beachcomber

Whether you call it Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday, this commemorated day is all about indulging yourself with loved ones before Lent begins. Historically, this was a day where families ate everything in their home that would be prohibited during the forty days of Lent–and the result was often a very large meal. Nowadays, those who celebrate usually just feast on all their favorite dishes around town. Luckily for us locals, finding a place to stuff your face with delicious-ness is not hard to come by. So where can you indulge in your favorite foods and beverages in Newport Beach? We have some suggestions!

Campus JAX

Campus JaxSince Mardi Gras is home to the city of New Orleans, how about indulging in some traditional Louisiana fare? Campus JAX will be offering a Fat Tuesday Chef’s Special of gulf shrimp and andouille sausage etouffee. Wash it all down with a JAX Hurricane while listening to live music. You will not want to miss out on this unique dining experience!

Moulin

MoulinIndulge in authentic French cuisine at Moulin’s Tuesday night 3-course Chef’s Dinner which includes an appetizer, entree and of course, a classique patisserie de France. Round out the meal with a glass of French wine or take a special treat home from the bakery. Seating times are at 7 and 7:30 p.m.

Bosscat Kitchen and Libations

Bosscat Kitchen

What could be more indulgent than good old-fashioned American comfort food? That’s what you’ll find at Bosscat Kitchen where options include Gulf shrimp and grits, Carolina BBQ salmon and Cajun brick chicken. But it’s really the large selection of whiskeys that will put this meal over the top and make this place one to remember. The extensive whiskey list includes options from throughout the U.S., Japan and Scotland.

The Beachcomber

The Beachcomber at Crystal CoveWhile most of the country is huddled inside to avoid the polar vortex, those fortunate enough to be in Newport Beach can indulge in outdoor dining with an ocean view. There are few places that bring diners closer to the water than The Beachcomber. Here, seafood takes the spotlight with dishes like Maine Diver Scallops, Blue Crab Stuffed Salmon, and Frutti Di Mare. Make the meal complete with a specialty cocktail or local craft beer.

Mama D’s

Anyone wanting to take the whole family out on Fat Tuesday should look no further than Mama D’s Italian Kitchen. This longtime Newport Beach favorite will satisfy everyone with dishes like homemade spinach ravioli, Jax Chicken Marsala or Chicken Mama D’s. Be sure to save room for the indulgent Italian dessert, Tiramisu.

And there you have it – some of Newport Beach’s most indulgent restaurants! For more dining options, visit DineNB.com. Happy Fat Tuesday!
