With the anticipation of the Academy Awards this Sunday, I thought I would head down to OnQue Style, Newport Beach’s premier consignment boutique to do a little styling of my own.

Located along the famous Pacific Coast Highway, OnQue is literally a swoon worthy “walk-in closet” offering authenticated, men and women pre-owned and new designer apparel, handbags, shoes and accessories including Chanel, Hermès, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton.

With racks and racks of beautiful pieces it wasn’t too hard to find potentials that these leading ladies might be wearing down the Red Carpet.

Sandra Bullock for Gravity

The image doesn’t do this dress justice; liquid like in person, this stunning yet simple Oscar De la Renta gown seems right up Sandy’s alley.  Finish this elegant look with a statement necklace to add punch, a gold Gucci clutch and T-Strap heels by Yves St. Laurent.

Meryl Streep for August: Osage County

This 18 time Oscar nominated actress is sure to look lovely in this lavender and lace gown with attached cape by Badgley Mischka.  I played up the pastel color by adding lots of silver accessories and Christian Louboutin Silver peep toe heels.

Cate Blanchet for Blue Jasmine

I wouldn’t be surprised if this fashion maven opted for a tuxedo instead of a dress.  Always one to stand out in a crowd, Cate would rock it in this black and white Yves St. Laurent tuxedo jacket and Georgio Armani pants.  Go minimal on the jewelry and save the sparkle for your accessories in these Report Signature studded platform heels and Gucci sequin clutch.

Judi Dench for Philomena

An ideal choice for this Dame is this Alexander McQueen off the shoulder chiffon and sheer stunner with gold beaded embellishments; I chose minimal jewelry because of the beading and added a classic metallic d’Orsay heel by Giuseppe Zanotti.

Amy Adams for American Hustle

With a wink and a nod to the decade her film takes place in, she’d be smart to wear this 1970’s inspired red ABS deep v-neck long sleeve gown by Allen Schwartz.  I love seeing red on a night like this and pairing silver sequin Christian Louboutin Very Prive 120 Peep toe heels, with minimal jewelry pulls this look together.
