2015 Newport to Ensenada International Yacht Race
Never does Newport Beach embrace its nautical spirit more than when the Newport to Ensenada International Yacht Race comes to town! From April 19-24, Newport Beach will celebrate the sailing and community spirits that make Newport Beach alluring. Every year, the Newport Ocean Sailing Association present one of Newport Beach’s great traditions.
The fun begins at the Balboa Village Fest- N2E Kickoff Party at Balboa Village- Home of the Fun Zone April 19, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Park at the Balboa Pier for a free day of fun the entire family will enjoy. Sample menu items from your favorite local restaurants at Taste of Balboa, where dishes range from $1 to $10. As you stroll along the boardwalk, marvel at the creations made by Strada Dell’Arte chalk artists.
Kids will love interactive activities like knot tying taught by the Newport Beach Sea Scouts, while grown ups will appreciate the beer and wine garden. You may find yourself walking to the beat as famed U2 cover band Hollywood U2 performs.

On April 24, grab your spot on the Balboa Peninsula or Pier to watch the famed race begin. Over 200 boats will take to the sea at 11 a.m., a true marvel to witness. Sailors spent the weeks, months, and even years before launch preparing for the 125-mile overnight race to Ensenada, Mexico. Top skippers from around the world will vie for their chance at a title with numerous classes for monohulls, multihulls, and cruisers.
