6 Cocktails to Sip This Spring

April 26, 2022

There’s something about springtime in Newport Beach that sparks a sense of excitement. The days gradually grow longer, and the temperatures begin to rise, signaling the start of endless beach days, boating adventures and breezy bike rides down the Balboa Peninsula. And while our city is often buzzed about for its infinite amount of recreational activities, we’d like to highlight one of our all-time favorites: springtime sippin’. There’s nothing like a seasonal cocktail under the sun that’ll lift your spirits and help you bid farewell to winter. And lucky for you, these six cocktails hit all the right warm-weather notes. Cheers!

Drink Name: Sun & Skyy

Order at: Malibu Farm

Crafted with mango-infused Community Spirit Vodka, mango-turmeric agave, fresh lemon juice and blue mylk, this sweet sip is just as tasty as it is pretty. Mango-lovers are sure to enjoy this crafty libation, but the best part? Malibu Farm and The Community Spirit are donating $6 to Ukrainian relief for every Sun & Skyy cocktail purchased!

Drink Name: Blood Orange Drop

Order at: Shorebird

This one’s for all our martini fans out there. Shorebird’s Blood Orange Drop is the perfect warm-weather sip! Made with Drake’s Organic Vodka, blood orange puree and fresh lime juice, you’ll be calling this your favorite drink in no time. Pair it with their Lemon Ricotta Soufflé Hot Cakes for brunch or savor each sip during dinner as you indulge in the Butter-Basted Hokkaido Scallops.

Drink Name: Berries & Bloom

Order at: SOL Mexican Cocina

If fruity and refreshing is your go-to, SOL Mexican Cocina’s Berries & Bloom cocktail is sure to please your palate. The combination of Código 1530 Tequila Rosa Blanco, raspberries, honey, Aperol and fresh lime makes this light and fizzy refreshment a crowd-pleaser. Plus, it’s the perfect switch-up from your normal margarita.

Drink Name: Bramble on Rose

Order at: True Food Kitchen

True Food Kitchen is always rotating their drinks and dishes based on the season, and let’s just say, their new spring menu is what the kids these days call “fire.” With everything from the Wild Tuna Tostada and Corn Tortilla Soup to the Good Earth Kale Cobb Salad and Tomato + Lemon Ricotta Flatbread, you’re sure to savor every bite! But the biggest draw? True Food’s Bramble on Rose cocktail made with Gray Whale Gin, giffard crème de framboise, honeydew and mint!

Drink Name: Roku’s Fusion

Order at: Sushi Roku

Feelin’ fruity? Head to Sushi Roku for the Roku’s Fusion, made with vodka, pineapple, honeydew, cantaloupe and watermelon! This sweet libation pairs perfectly with any of their rolls, like the Tuna Jalapeño or White Lotus with popcorn shrimp tempura, asparagus, avocado, albacore, crispy onions and wasabi truffle soy. However, if you prefer a drink with a little more zest, the Smokin’ Yuzu with mezcal, agave nectar, yuzu juice and grapefruit juice is also a great warm-weather sip!

Drink Name: Doon’s Spritzer

Order at: Muldoon’s Irish Pub

While this local pub may be known for its authentic Irish cuisine and Guinness on draft, don’t miss out on their selection of handcrafted cocktails. The Doon’s Spritzer is the perfect springtime beverage, featuring a refreshing blend of Cucumber Mint Ketel One Botanical Vodka, fresh lime juice, manzanilla, St. Germaine and sparkling wine. Sip the day away in the pub’s open-air courtyard, and cheers to a spring day well-spent!
